Devon Dark Skies Week – 23 to 30 October 2020

This Friday sees the start of Devon Dark Skies week.  In this week to celebrate our amazing night skies and fantastic nocturnal creatures the Devon Local Nature Partnership has lots of interesting activities to join in with; including a webinar on star gazing and talks on understanding the impact of lighting on our wildlife.  Visit the Natural Devon website to find out more.

Exmoor National Park was Europe’s first Dark Skies Reserve and is home to some of the darkest skies in the country so it’s a great place to gaze at the stars. 16 to 31 October is Exmoor’s 4th annual Dark Skies Festival and also has lots of activities and events to get involved with.  Visit the Exmoor National Park website for more information.

Getting out for a night-time walk to look for nocturnal wildlife or just enjoy the night sky is also a great way to join in with Naturally Healthy October.
